I was hesitant to buy these from amazon because the product model Number didn't match what crucials website said I needed when I chose my system on their product finder system. Later I was told by crucial that they use the same exact modules but give different product numbers to them depending on what system you input into their product finder. So long story short, I bought them and installed them I. My brand new imac.

My system booted on the first try and all 32gb worth registered in the system without any problems. This is an excellent deal! Apple wanted to charge $600 to go from 8gb to 32gb. I spent less than $300 to do the same with these modules and I got to keep the original 8gb of ram that came with my imac to use I. A different system!

One more thing!
Installing these isn't for the faint of heart! You hand to align them in the slots just right and push them I. Pretty hard to fully seat them. They may seem like they don't want to fit or are too big, but trust me, they fit and work just fine. Just push on then hard and they will go in.

As a graphic designer, 4 GB of RAM simply wasn't cutting it when running nearly all of the Adobe Creative Suite is a daily thing for me. I went with this upgrade because Crucial was the most affordable brand (that I trust), and I'm overjoyed with the results. The RAM was immediately accepted, and the speed of my MacBook has increased by more than 200% when running (and multi-tasking with) highly memory intensive programs. Running Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign simultaneously is no issue at all anymore. Even when working with quite large files, I've yet to experience any lagging or freezing (that was quite common before, thus the reason for upgrading). Files that would take up to five minutes to load are now open and ready to edit within 10-15 seconds. I would highly recommend this RAM in specific, and advise anyone who uses their computer for more than web browsing and has less than 8 GB to consider getting an upgrade. When you do any sort of memory intensive tasks, more RAM is always better. I know of some professionals who use design stations with up to 94 GB of RAM.

Also, on a separate note for those who are considering the upgrade for gaming, I still say go for it. At 4 GB, the games that I do play (not many options for that on Mac, sadly; I just prefer OS X for the fluency of the design programs), like Path of Exile, Diablo 3, and WoW, all experience issues with framerate quality and lagging/freezing, but after upgrading, they truly run like advertised. This also pleases me greatly.

Overall, I have yet to find any cons to this product. I would recommend it to anyone seeking an upgrade.

Got these to leave space for another 16G later if needed in my ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with a 6 core FX (highest speed at 95W for heat control) AMD FX 6100 6-Core Processor, 3.3 6 Socket AM3+ - FD6100WMGUSBX. When booted, the chips were seen and clocked correctly at 1600.

Scores 7.8 on Win7 score. When running board at standard overclock setting, the MB throttles it back down to 1445 but it does so automatically while increasing CPU core and NB Freq up. So these chips are 100% compatible. I'm not a fan of the higher profile memory heat sinks so these are good sticks for the $$$.

Superior overclockability through careful screening

Overclocking your components can be a fun and rewarding way of pushing your gaming PC to its performance limits. Vengeance can help make this happen. Before each module is assembled, the DRAM chips are individually screened not only to ensure reliable meeting performance specifications, but to allow generous headroom for stable overclocking.

If you go to the crucial website and have them scan your MacBook, they'll recommend you a CT kit with a serial number that doesn't match this one. As alarming as that might seem, the crucial website FAQ's indicate that the serial numbers may vary for warehouse storage and distribution, and that you should pay attention to the listed specs instead.

Anyways, the installation was surprisingly easy. It consists of a simple unscrewing and removal of the back panel followed by popping the old ram sticks out and popping the new sticks in that even an tech-unsavvy person like me could perform. I found the RAM replacement video guide on crucial's site helpful, since the guy points out a few safety considerations like static discharge and the numbers and placements of screws.

Once installed, I immediately noticed the difference in the upgrade. Applications are opening much more rapidly than they used to, and Parallels for Mac is running in seamless clarity. I highly recommend this upgrade to other MacBook Pro users running on 4 GB of RAM or less.
